Improved HAERT Program Promotes Learning of Mental Wellness Skills

“Since Shelter-in-place, we have seen a dramatic increase in statistics around mental health and substance use. It’s critical that we systematically teach people the skills to maintain Mental Wellness and mitigate the looming mental health crisis,” HAERT Program CEO and mental health professional Barbara Tsai. “We know that Mental Wellness skills training has a huge impact on patients already in clinical settings. It is simply negligent to wait until people are overwhelmed, when we know they can benefit from this training to manage the stress and strong emotions we are all experiencing right now.”

The HAERT Program has launched a new and improved educational platform for its HAERT™ Mental Wellness Curriculum for high schools. Preventive Mental Wellness strategies and skills are critical for teens to maintain good mental health and manage anxiety and depression. The new HAERT Program includes online quizzes, assessments, reporting and gamification to promote engagement and support learning.

HAERT Program Features:

  • Curriculum draws on a strong evidence-base of Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Sensory Modulation, energy management, and more. 

  • Online video-based format is easily accessible for students, staff, and families, supporting the entire school community. 

  • Interactive lessons capture and maintain student engagement.

  • Learning assessments and reporting enable administrators to monitor student progress and identify students who need more support.

The HAERT™ Program teaches participants how to manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to support Mental Wellness. HAERT (Happiness, Awareness, and Emotional Resilience Training) gives participants an understanding of the neuroscience and physiology of stress and strong emotions combined with teaching clinically-proven strategies and skills needed for distress tolerance and emotional regulation.
