Trainer Course: Supporting Teen Mental Wellness
Learn how to help our youth and young adults manage stress and challenges, interact effectively, make great decisions and feel confident and empowered.
Leverage the HAERT Program at your site.
-
Emotional impact in classrooms
We are seeing more behavioral issues in the classroom that affect the group dynamic, often negatively impacting learning and the emotional wellness of other students and teachers.
-
Training to support students
Few school staff receive training beyond Mental Health first aid. Yet, teachers and other staff are being asked to support and manage students who are asking for accommodations or engaging in behaviors that warrant a nuanced approach.
-
Here's where to start
We teach a Skills based approach to Mental Wellness. You don’t need to be a therapist to help students improve their daily functioning. HAERT training gives you the knowledge and confidence to support your students (and yourself) more effectively.
What participants say.
“The vocabulary and concepts help me put into words and share with my students the things I already know.”
— Middle School PE/Health Teacher
“Modeling skills for my students has caused me to practice using skills for my own benefit to regulate myself in stressful situations.”
— Middle School Therapist
“The labels and metaphors make it easier to have discussions around Mental Wellness.”
— Middle School Health Teacher
“The explanations help me understand why students might be resistant and be able to handle the situation better.”
— Middle School PE/Health Teacher

The HAERT Story
Learn the backstory on what our co-founder discovered while working with teens and adults in an award-winning mental health facility and why we created the HAERT Program.
Skills empower us.
Feeling powerless is the first step towards anxiety and depression.
Having skills empowers us to make change - the opposite of being powerless.
Having a lot of skills means we are empowered to make an impact in a wide variety of contexts. Changing a flat tire, scrambling eggs, and editing video are skills. Managing and learning from our emotions, having curious or difficult conversations, and consoling troubled friends are also valuable skills.
Turning skills into habits will maintain our well being just like most of us already do with brushing our teeth, showering, and eating healthy food.
HAERT skills lead to Mental Wellness.
